Former Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, has issued a heartfelt verbal apology for supporting the second coming of Otto Addo as Black Stars head coach following the senior national teams below-par showing in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana shockingly suffered a 2-0 loss to Sudan on Tuesday, October 15, throwing the teams qualification chances in shambles.

In the ongoing AFCON qualifier the Black Stars are winless after four matches.

In an interview on Onua TV's flagship sports program, Agyemang Badu begged for mercy for throwing his weight behind Addo when it was announced the German-trained player scout was in line to be appointed coach of the Black Stars.

“I apologise. Those who advocated for the second coming of coach Otto Addo, I gave him massive support but I’m sorry. It seems the task is beyond him,” he owned up.

“Sometimes when you talk about these things, you are tagged as a bad person,” he said, adding that if the Black Stars cannot beat teams like Niger, they don’t deserve to play at the AFCON."
