Dreams FC achieved a historic milestone on Sunday in Kumasi, as they secured a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals for the first time, defeating Stade Malien.

With a significant advantage from the first leg, Dreams FC confirmed their place in the last four, solidifying their presence in the tournament's history books during their debut campaign.

After clinching a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Bamako, Dreams FC faced Stade Malien in the second leg at the Baba Yara Stadium. Despite the intense pressure, they managed to hold Stade Malien to a 1-1 draw, preventing their opponents from overturning the deficit.

An early goal, initially celebrated by Derrick Agyei, was unfortunately disallowed after a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), a new feature introduced from the quarterfinals onward. However, Dreams FC remained undeterred and continued to press forward.

Sylvester Simba's crucial equalizer proved to be a turning point in the match, providing Dreams FC with the momentum needed to secure their progression to the next round.

Although Yoro Diaby scored for Stade Malien in the 59th minute, Dreams FC displayed remarkable resilience, ensuring that they held onto their lead and ultimately emerged victorious.

Their journey to the semifinals sets the stage for another historic showdown, as they await the winner between Zamalek and Future FC. The prospect of facing either of these formidable opponents adds to the anticipation surrounding Dreams FC's remarkable campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
