In a tragic moment, a footballer died after being struck by lightning during a friendly match in Indonesia.
The shocking incident happened on Saturday, February 10, when Septian Raharja was featured in a friendly match between FC Bandung and FBI Subang.
The 35-year-old did not die instantly and was rushed to hospital, according to local media PRFM News.
The other players on the field immediately rushed to help, the match having been interrupted.
However, he was still breathing on the field until transported to hospital. Sadly, he succumbed to death.
Local media report that the weather was cloudy until the weather suddenly changed, causing lightning to strike.
Several Indonesian teams have since taken a moment of silence in memory of Septain, who was from Subang. Before FBI Mageland and Erka played against one another, both sets of players bowed their heads to commemorate their fellow footballer.
