In response to recent allegations of juju usage by Dreams FC, Vice President Prince Abdul Hamid has moved to allay fears, particularly from Egyptian giants Zamalek, ahead of Sunday's crucial CAF Confederation Cup semifinal second leg.
Following a report by Arab website Btolat.com claiming that a Ghanaian journalist accused Dreams FC of employing black magic tactics during matches, Prince Hamid has stepped in to reassure Zamalek of fair play in the upcoming encounter.
Speaking to Btolat.com, Prince Hamid stated, "We are Muslims, we are far from using magic."
He added: "Islam actually forbids the use of magic. If it will harm another person, it is forbidden, and this is what we actually believe in."
He continued: "Some Ghanaian media are trying to distort the reputation of this club, which has achieved great results in a short period. We were founded only 14 years ago."
He added: “We believe in God, and if we qualified for the semi-finals to face Zamalek, this is certainly by His grace.”
He continued: “Zamalek should not be afraid. If they believe in God Almighty, they should stop this talk.”
He continued his statements: “We started this journey in the Confederation Cup and we all trust in God, and we will try to finish it with all force.”
Regarding the club’s statement about mobilizing fans for a free attendance against Zamalek: “This is happening for the first time, and this confirms the importance of the match. We are an ambitious club and we have goals that we want to achieve.”
Dreams FC will host Zamalek at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in the CAF Confederation Cup semifinal return leg.
