Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena has been confirmed dead after collapsing during a match in the Albanian top-flight league on Saturday afternoon.
Dwamena went down after just twenty-three (23) minutes of the game between his club KS Egnatia and FK Partizani at the Demrozi Stadium.
The 28-year-old went unconscious and was rushed to the hospital after efforts by the medical team of both clubs to revive him failed.
He has had heart issues, which collapsed his sensational move to English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

In 2021, Dwamena collapsed on the pitch in the Austrian Cup when he was playing for Blau-Weiss Linz. The incident resulted the cancellation of his contract.
Dwamena began his career in the youth team of Red Bull Salzburg in the 2013/2014 season. He played his first professional championship the following year with FC Liefering, in the Austrian second division.
After almost 60 appearances and 25 goals with the Zurich shirt, Dwamena moved to Spain to Levante and was subsequently purchased by Real Zaragoza.
In the last two seasons, he has been playing for KF Egnatia, a club in the Albanian top division and has scored 24 goals (including three in the Conference League) and 10 assists in less than 40 appearances.
Dwamena was the leading top scorers chart of this season's Albanian top-flight league with nine goals.
He capped eight times for the Black Stars of Ghana and scored two goals.
