Three English Premier League clubs are considering a summer move to secure the signature of the 25-year-old winger following his explosive performance in the Belgian Jupilier Pro League this season.
KRC Genk forward Joseph Paintsil is set to leave the Cegeka Arena outfit at the end of the 2022/23 season after attracting interest from three English top-tier clubs.
According to English tabloid The Telegraph, Brentford, Fulham and Brighton have all sent scouts this season to watch the Ghana international and have been impressed by the 25-year-old being involved in a combined 28 goals during the campaign.
Paintsil has been a standout performer at KRC Genk this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists aiding the Blue and White lads to finish top of the Belgian Jupilier League regular season, with a Championship playoffs to be played next month.
He is expected to leave the Belgian club with a fee around the region of £10 million in the next summer transfer window.
The three Premier League clubs who have shown interest are all looking to add to their attack in the summer to build on their excellent seasons.
He will become the latest Ghanaian player to be moving to the Premier League after Kamaldeen Sulemana, who joined relegation threatened club Southampton FC in January.
Paintsil’s goals-and-assist contribution has made him the most productive African player in Europe this season, with two more than Napoli striker Victor Osimhen (21 and 4) and also ahead of Mohamed Salah in the table.
The speedster was conspicuously excluded from the Ghana final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar but he felt unperturbed with the decision of the former Black Stars coach Otto Addo and continued his impressive display at KRC Genk.
He was named among the Black Stars squad for the last month's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Angola where he climbed off the bench to provide an assist in a 1-1 away draw in Launda.
Paintsil joined KRC Genk from Ghanaian side Tema Youth FC after a successful loan spell at Hungarian side Ferencváros.
