The Serbian top-flight league outfit have secured the signature of the lanky midfielder in the ongoing winter transfer window, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.
Ghana international Edmund Addo has officially joined Serbian SuperLiga outfit FK Spartak Subotica from FC Sheriff Tiraspol for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old signed a two-and-half year deal with the Blue and White lads after passing a mandatory medical examination earlier today.
The club's official statement reads “The management of the Spartak Ždrepčeva krv Football Club hired a large reinforcement in the first days of the calendar year. The new member of the club is Edmund Addo (22) from Ghana who signed a contract for two and a half years”
Addo started his professional career in 2019 at Senica of Slovakia before moving to Moldovan top-tier giants FC Sheriff Tiraspol in 2021, where he spent two seasons.
He won two titles with FC Sheriff Tiraspol and made an appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the club where his scintillating performance in the competition attracted him interest from several clubs before sustaining a long-term injury at the senior national team of Ghana.
Addo managed to make 33 appearances in all competitions for FC Sheriff Tiraspol with a goal and two assists to his credit during his two-year stay.
His explosive performance at FC Sheriff Tiraspol earned him a call-up to the senior national team of Ghana where he made a debut appearance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Addo has capped eight times for Ghana so far.
