German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Köhn scored a consolation goal in Hannover 96 away loss to Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga II on Saturday morning.

Hannover 96 succumbed to a 6-1 defeat to Hamburger SV at the Volkspark Stadion in the match-week 27 fixture.

Black Stars winger Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer climbed off the bench to register his name on the score sheet in the demolition exercise for Hamburger SV.

Hamburger SV ended the first half with a 2-0 courtesy goals from Sonny Kitte and Laszlo Benes on the 34th and 41st minute respectively before Derrick Köhn pulled one back for the visitors.

Laszlo Benes restored the two-goal lead for the home side after brilliantly converting a spot-kick awarded to them on the 61st minute. Four minutes later, Robert Glatzel made it 4-1 for Hamburger SV.

The German-born Ghanaian winger needed just six minutes of his introduction to extend their lead with a fine strike on the 76th minute of the game. The demolition exercise was sealed with Ludovit Reis' strike on the 87th minute.

Köhn, who operates as a left-back, has netted four in 26 matches for Hannover 96 across all competitions this season so far.

He is eligible to represent Ghana at the senior national team level despite playing for German at the U19 level in 2017.
