Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has backed Antoine Semenyo to win more trophies in the near future, insisting the forward’s recent success is only the beginning of a promising journey.

Semenyo arrived at Ghana’s training camp in Vienna on Monday ahead of international friendlies against Austria and Germany, where he received a warm reception from teammates and technical staff, including a guard of honour in recognition of his recent triumph.

The 26-year-old played a key role in Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium, clinching the Carabao Cup and marking the first major trophy of his career.

Speaking after welcoming the forward into camp, Addo praised both Semenyo and his team for their achievement, while expressing confidence that more silverware could follow.

“First of all, again, I would like to congratulate you for winning this cup. Hopefully not the last cup this season,” Addo said.

“You still have some chances, I think. Really, really good work, what you have done, but also your team. We would like to congratulate you on that.”

Since his move from AFC Bournemouth, Semenyo has quickly adapted to life at Manchester City, becoming part of a squad still competing on multiple fronts, including the Premier League and FA Cup.

With confidence growing and opportunities ahead, Addo’s message was clear—this latest success could be just the start of a trophy-laden spell for the Ghana international.
