The French-based defender made his first-ever appearance for the Black Stars in a narrow win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.
OGC Nice centre-back Kojo Peprah Oppong made his debut for the senior national team of Ghana against Comoros during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Sunday evening.
Oppong was introduced in the 75th minute of the game as a replacement for Alidu Seidu.
The 21-year-old, who has had an incredible campaign in the French Ligue 1 for OGC Nice, was rewarded with his maiden call-up to the Black Stars by Otto Addo.
Oppong arrived at the French club this summer from IFK Norrköping, and he has already scored one goal in seven Ligue 1 appearances.
The Black Stars booked themselves a qualification to the next year's FIFA World Cup after finishing on top of Group I with 25 points after ten games.
A second-half strike from Tottenham Hotspur's Mohammed Kudus ensured the Black Stars a 1-0 win to wrap up their campaign unbeaten at home.
The West African nation has qualified for the World Cup for the fifth time after making an appearance in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022.
Ghana will know its group opponents in the 2026 FIFA World Cup during the draw, which will be held in December 2025.
