Ghanaian forward Kwaku Karikari opened his goalscoring account in the Serbian Super Liga on Saturday, though his strike could not prevent FK Zeleznicar Pancevo from falling 3-1 to OFK Beograd in Round 9 of the 2025/26 campaign.

The 21-year-old, on loan from Danish Superliga side AC Horsens, netted his maiden goal for Zeleznicar at the FC Mladost Stadium, briefly restoring parity before the visitors pulled away to secure victory.

Beograd struck first in the 17th minute through Dutch forward Jay Enem, but Karikari responded just after the half-hour mark, finishing confidently from an Aleksa Kuljanin assist to level the match.

Despite his equaliser, Zeleznicar were unable to sustain their momentum. Enem grabbed his second of the night shortly after the restart to hand Beograd the lead once more, and Nikola Knezevic converted a stoppage-time penalty to put the result beyond doubt.

Karikari’s compatriot, defender Abdul Razak Yussif, also featured for Zeleznicar, playing the entire 90 minutes.

The young Ghanaian has now made five appearances this season, contributing one goal and one assist, as he continues his adaptation to Serbian top-flight football and works to establish himself as a key figure for the club.
