The English third tier campaigners have landed the loan services of the 25-year-old forward of Ghanaian heritage from the Scottish top tier side in this January window
English-born Ghanaian forward Emile Acquah has joined English League Two side Harrogate Town from Scottish Premiership side Dundee FC on loan until the end of the season.
The ex-Southend U18 star, who joined The Terrors from English League Two side Barrow FC on a three-year contract in the summer of 2025, has so far struggled for game time this season and has now been moved on by his current employers this winter.
A club statement reads: ''We are delighted to announce the signing of Emile Acquah, on loan from Dundee until the end of the season. The striker signed for The Dees from Barrow for an undisclosed fee in Summer 2025 having made 82 appearances in League Town across two seasons with The Bluebirds.''
Acquah said to his club's official website: ''I'm very pleased to be here, when I heard the interest I was excited to make it happen and I'm happy it has gone through. I've been in this league before and I've played against probably every team in it, so I'm excited to get back to it now.
''This is a stadium I like playing at and I feel like I've had good performances here before. When you walk in the first day and you see people you know, it helps you settle down much quicker because it can be hard settling into a new environment in the middle of the season. My hope is that I can bring a physical presence, some goals and be a striker who works hard for the team.”
Club manager Simon Weaver has told the BBC York after landing the 25-year-old striker on loan this January: ''We’re really pleased to have him, he's a big striker and we think we can get the best out of him. We’ve wanted a target man for some time, someone who can be a presence in both boxes and help us play the way we want to.We’ve watched a fair bit of him and have admired him for quite a long time so are all excited by what he can bring to the club.''
Acquah has so far played in 17 games across all competitions for the Tannadice Park campaigners this term. Given his Ghanaian heritage, the London-born striker still remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage.
