Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has been included in manager Mikel Arteta's 25-man squad for the group stage of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League campaign with Arsenal.
Partey has been a subject of discussion in recent football conversations, partly due to the arrival of Declan Rice, which has led to Arteta deploying him as a right-back in several of Arsenal's recent matches this season.
Although Partey sustained an injury before the international break, he is expected to recover in time to feature for the Gunners as they make their return to this prestigious competition after a six-year absence.
In the 25-man squad unveiled on Monday, Partey is listed among the midfielders, a group that includes Rice, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, Smith-Rowe, Elneny, Odegaard, and Viera. Eddie Nketiah, another player of Ghanaian descent, is also part of the squad as they aim to make a strong return to this prestigious championship.
The London-based team, which finished second in the English Premier League last season behind only Manchester City, will face stiff competition from PSV Eindhoven, RC Lens, and Sevilla in their group stage matches.
