Head coach of Ghana men under 17 team, Paa Kwasi Fabin is pleased with the performance of his players but expressed his displeasure over the penalty awarded against them in their defeat to Burkina Faso.
The Black Starlets got stunned by the Young Stallions by 1-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium last Tuesday night in the second semi final of the ongoing WAFU Championship.
It was really a tough game for both countries until a penalty was awarded against Ghana's Collins Agyemang after stepping on the foot of Aboubakar Camara in the box. It was subsequently converted nicely by Ousmane Camara and that goal separated the two sides in the end.
The defeat means Ghana will miss out on the next CAF U-17 Cup of Nations which will be held in Algeria.
Speaking in the post-match interview, the experience gaffer has praised his players for being discipline tactically but however disagreed with the Togolese referee on the penalty decision.
"In the first half, they veered a little bit from the instructions they were given but in the second half they came back and played better only for some wonderful penalty to be taken against us."
Ghana will face Cote D'Ivoire in the third place playoff on Friday, June 24, 2022, the same day the grand finally will be played between Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
