The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has asserted that his administration has demonstrated significant potential in tackling the challenges facing Ghanaian football.

Speaking at the final of the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Okraku emphasized that his strategy for addressing these issues begins with a focus on youth football development.

“We came from a period where we were inconsistent in the running of our domestic leagues. We came from a period where our national teams were not performing,” Okraku remarked, alluding to the impact of the Number 12 expose on the sport's governance.

“To fix this, it takes time, patience, the right people, and substantial investments. I think that so far, the leadership of our FA has shown enormous commitment to solving these problems.”

Okraku reinforced the idea that his administration is committed to addressing the root causes of the challenges faced by Ghanaian football, stating, “We have said that we will fix these problems from the very foundation. And what we have witnessed today is a testament to our desire and commitment toward that ambition.”

As Okraku enters his sixth year as president of the GFA, his focus on youth development is seen as a pivotal step in revitalizing Ghanaian football for future success.
