Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has admitted their staunch supporter 'Nana Pooley' suffered a very painful death which leave them in a very tough moment and they will have to continue winning matches when they resume competitive action since that's the only way to honour him very well.
The Porcupine Warriors resumed training yesterday at the Adako-Jachie training grounds after almost two weeks break hoping to reshape themselves even though they are unwilling to return to competitive football anytime soon.
The Ghana Premier League is currently on a temporal break following the tragic death of famous Asante Kotoko supporter 'Nana Pooley' during their GPL week 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC.
Prior to the start of training yesterday, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum in his speech to the players admitted they are in a very tedious situation now but urged them to work hard and rediscover their form so they can continue with their stellar run to make the deceased proud.
“It’s unfortunate. Now we need to honour him, we need to dedicate whatever we do to honour him. I’m sure we are ready to honour him. It will be difficult to forget what happened. It will be difficult. But then the only way to honour him is to make sure we train well to win games to make his soul happy. Let’s all come together and make sure that we work very hard to get the results. That’s the most important thing,” Coach Ogum said.
Asante Kotoko despite the resumption will not partake in the round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup which comes off this weekend.
