Medeama SC President, Moses Armah 'Parker', has made it clear that he will not be running for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential seat in the upcoming elections.
Despite his well-respected stature in the football community and his previous roles in the sport, Parker stated that he has no interest in contesting for the position.
Having served as an executive member before, Parker believes his current responsibilities are significant, and he intends to offer his support and advice to the current administration rather than seek the GFA presidency.
"I have been an executive member before, and my responsibilities now are significant. I will sit behind and offer my support and advice to the current administration."
Meanwhile, several other prominent figures in Ghanaian football have expressed their intention to run for the GFA presidency. Notable candidates include former GFA Vice President George Afriyie, former Western Regional FA Chairman Kojo Yankah, and Benjamin Jantuah, as they aim to challenge incumbent President Kurt Okraku, who has confirmed his decision to seek a second term.
Aspirants for the presidential seat will need to pay GHC50,000 as filing fees, subject to approval by the GFA Congress.
The GFA elections are scheduled to take place in October later this year, setting the stage for an interesting race to lead Ghanaian football.
