Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo secured his first win in his second spell and has expressed elation for that and praised his team's never give up spirit which he believes handed all three points.

Ghana came from behind to beat Mali by 1-2 at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako to secure their second win in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Kamory Doumbia opened the scoring account for the Malians just on the stroke of half time but two second half goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew handed Ghana all three points.

Reacting to the win, the former Dortmund trainer admitted they had a very poor start but lauded his lads for subsequently bouncing back stronger in the game.

He added their next game will be a very tough one following the results they had in Bamako.

"In the first 20 minutes we struggled but in the second half we were better. Fatawu did great with his pressing late in the game. I think we did great in the conditions here."

"I think we had a good fighting spirit but the game was 50-50. It was even and at the end our substitutes made the difference."

"The game against Central African Republic will now be even more difficult because we will now be expected to win."

The win has now sent Ghana to the second position on the Group I table with six points after three matches.

The four-time African champions will host Central African Republic in the next round of games on June 10, 2024.
