Hearts of Oak nipped on Mawuli Wayo’s lone goal to bounce back on winning path with a slim 1-0 victory over Vision FC in match-day 12 opener of the Ghana Premier League.

The game really lived up to expectation with how the two sides played especially the second half but it was that goal on the stroke of half-time that made the difference.

The ‘Phobians’ were the dominant side in the first half with some incursions made on goal but Vision FC also defended their lines very well especially at the start.

Hearts of Oak finally opened the scoring account in the 41st minute through Mawuli Wayo who struck at a very close range following a scramble from George Paaku’s deep corner kick delivery.

Back from recess, despite Vision FC bouncing back on a higher note, the host came close to leveling the score but George Paaku’s long range hit was tipped off by goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe.

The ‘Ewuo Keke’ from then pushed so much for the equalizer and made lots of purposeful attacks but still couldn’t find the equalizer with goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi denying them in certain occasions.

It finished 1-0 in the end for the Rainbow Club who have finally halted their three-game winless run and have jumped back into the top four in the league table with 21 points. They will play as guests to Karela United next.

Vision FC after the loss will remain in tenth place with 14 points but are most likely to drop depending on results from other matches and will host Young Apostles next.
