The Dutch elite division outfit have beefed up their technical bench with the capturing of the veteran defender as he is set to play a key scouting role for both the academy ranks and the senior team
Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau has been named as scout for the first team of Eredivisie club SC Telstar.

The 35-year-old experienced centre-back, who is set to hang up his boots at the end of the season, is expected to bring his expertise to bear when he kick-starts his technical duties with De Witte Leeuwen.
Apau captained SC Telstar in securing qualification to the Dutch top-flight this season after featuring in 38 league games in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie 24/25 campaign.
A statement reads: ''Telstar has appointed Mitch Apau as scout for the first team. In addition, he will play a role in directing and coordinating scouting within the youth academy. With his arrival, an important position within the technical organization has been filled once again.

''With this move, Apau returns to the White Lions in a new role, after saying goodbye as a player last season following promotion to the Eredivisie. The former captain was a familiar face within the squad for years and played a total of 107 official league matches for Telstar, starting 106 of them.
''With the appointment of Apau, Telstar takes the next step in the development of the technical organization and the club's long-term vision.''
The veteran defender said to the club's official website: ''I had a great time here as a player and am proud to now contribute to the club in a new role. We want to make progress, and I will fully commit myself to that.''
Sporting director Peter Hofstede added: ''With Mitch, we are bringing in someone who knows the club inside out and knows exactly what is required. His experience as a player makes him a valuable addition to our technical organization. With his arrival, we are strengthening scouting within Telstar, which is an important step in the further development of the club.”
