The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is on the verge of securing new sponsorship deals for the Ghana Premier League, according to Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, the GFA’s head of Public Relations Strategy.
This comes after the 2024/25 season kicked off without a headline sponsor, following the withdrawal of betPawa halfway through the previous season.
Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Armstrong-Mortagbe highlighted the GFA’s ability to attract sponsorships, noting that the association has seen a remarkable rise in revenue in recent years.
“We have successfully raised sponsorship from GHS 2.3 million to GHS 23.1 million, a remarkable 909% increase,” he revealed. “The expertise is there, and we are confident in our ability to attract new sponsors.”
He acknowledged the current challenges in the sponsorship landscape but reassured fans that the GFA’s PR, strategy, marketing, and business development teams are actively working to secure new partnerships.
Armstrong-Mortagbe assured that announcements regarding the new sponsorship deals will be made soon.
While betPawa continues to sponsor other GFA initiatives, it no longer supports the Ghana Premier League. The GFA remains committed to finalizing new sponsorship deals to ensure the league's growth and the development of local football talent.
