Samartex have been officially crowned champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, ending Medeama's reign as titleholders.
The Timber Giants clinched their first Ghana Premier League title two matches before the end of the season by defeating Bibiani Goldstars on matchday 32.
Their official coronation took place on Sunday, June 16, 2024, during their final match against Accra Lions.
In a celebratory game on Sunday afternoon at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex, Samartex secured a 2-0 victory over Accra Lions.
Emmanuel Mamah opened the scoring with a stunning goal in the 3rd minute, giving Samartex an early lead.
The win was sealed in the 87th minute with a brilliant goal from Ebenezer Papa Ocran, ensuring a comfortable triumph for the hosts.
Samartex concluded the season with a total of 61 points from 34 games.
The champions were awarded their medals during a vibrant ceremony in Samreboi, where the atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement.
As the newly crowned champions, Samartex will receive a prize of GHC500,000 and will represent Ghana in the next season's CAF Champions League.
