Heart of Lions coach Bashir Hayford, who is currently leading his team to a dominant showing in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign that might culminate in a title, is interested in coaching the Ghana men's national team, the Black Stars.
Hayford's representatives might contact the Ghana Football Association (GFA) about the coach's interest in the position.
Few days ago - your authentic football portal Kickgh.com revealed that the Ghana job is in line to be made vacant as the GFA is in line to dismiss head coach Otto Addo following the team's disastrous failure to qualify to the 2025 Afcon - slated to be held in Morocco.
Otto Addo became the head coach of the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars on March 15, 2024, reportedly signing a 34 months contract with the GFA. He replaced Chris Hughton.
Kickgh.com understands that the GFA will enter into a serious search for a coach and has already said they will need a "serial winner" to lead the Black Stars into the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup. However, Bashir Hayford feels he is too ripe and the right candidate to take up the top job.
"Everything shows I can do the job. So if you see competence in me, give it to me; if you don't see any competence, don't give it to me," he stated on Asempa FM.
