Medeama SC coach, Ibrahim Tanko has indicated that he is uninformed about any potential interest or pursuit of Kamaradinin Mamudu by other clubs, especially those outside Ghana.
Mamudu, 22, has been a key cog for the Yellow and Mauves as he has been regarded as the best right-back, currently, in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
In March this year, the 22-year-old was recently handed a call up by Black Stars coach Otto Addo during Ghana's Matchday 5 and 6 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
However, speaking in an interview with the media after Medeama defeated Vision FC 3-1 in Matchweek 30 of the GPL, Tanko denied ever been directly involved in any transfer negotiations concerning the defensive dynamo.
“I’m not aware of any interest from clubs outside. Mamudu is one of the pillars of this team," he said.
“That’s why he’s a national team player, and he’s doing very well. But I always say it’s not about an individual, it’s about teamwork.
“I’m not surprised he’s scoring a lot of goals. When we have the ball, he plays almost like a midfielder."
Tanko went ahead to respond to requests for more Medeama players to be handed national team call ups.
“I don’t think I have to recommend him. The national team coaches are watching. They are my friends, and if we’re discussing players, I will certainly speak well of Prosper Boakye."
