Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United (RTU) has issued a public apology to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and their supporters after admitting to fielding unregistered players in their league game against Dreams FC in Dawu.

The decision was made after the club's registered players boycotted the match due to six months of unpaid salaries.

Despite losing the game 8-1, the main issue was RTU's use of players who were not registered for the match. The club management brought in Division Two players to fill the gaps, leading to the GFA charging them and investigating the matter. Dreams FC has also filed a protest against RTU.

In a statement, RTU acknowledged their mistake, saying it was never intentional and never meant to ridicule Ghana football. The club is facing a difficult period, which has led to their potential relegation from the Premier League. RTU is seeking mercy and sympathy from the public and the GFA as they work to reorganize and rebuild their team.

"The above action was never deliberate and was never intended to ridicule our beautiful game. The club has gone through some difficult moments this year, a situation that is culminating in our exit from the Premier League. The club, however, courts for mercy and sympathy from the general public and the GFA as we strive to reorganise and build a team that all of us will be proud of. We express our regret again and that this will never happen again. The club is sorry."

The club now faces Great Olympics in their final game on Sunday, leaving fans wondering which players they will bring on board.
