Medeama SC talismanic midfielder Salim Adams has stated that his Black Stars call-up is a huge step in his career as he feels excited to be part of the squad set to face Mexico for this month's FIFA international window.
The 23-year-old has been the tormentor-in-chief at the TnA Stadium for opponents in this current Ghana Premier League campaign. However, his rich vein of form in the domestic top-flight has now earned him a great recognition by gaining an invite to the Ghana national football team ahead of the friendly encounter with the north American nation on May 22, 2026.
Speaking in an interview, the former Hearts of Oak midfielder says he is now feeling motivated to keep pushing hard for more opportunities with the Black Stars, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon next month.
He told 3Sports: '' l feel very excited about getting a Black Stars call-up. It’s a huge step for me, and it motivates me to keep pushing harder. I’m hoping to achieve more and earn opportunities beyond here.”
The Ghana U23 man has been Medeama's linchpin this term, with his 11 goals helping their cause towards annexing the league title this season.
Salim is part of the six home-based players from the Ghana Premier League being selected for the Mexico friendly later this month.
