Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare has suggested that vengeance may be on the cards when they come up against Asante Kotoko in the return leg of the Ghana Premier League.
It has been just under five days since Kotoko 'French fried' the Phobians 1-0 in the matchday 13 fixture of the league at the Baba Yara Stadium.
However, the defeat has plunged Hearts of Oak into a state of distress - and are hungrier and will certainly look formidable as they look forward to the highly anticipated matchup against the Porcupine Warriors in the second round (match-day 30 fixture) on May 2, 2025.
"Although we didn’t have a favourable result against Kotoko when we went there, however, that shouldn't derail us," Asare stated from the Black Galaxies camp.
"In the second round, we'll host them and try to change that situation and get a favourable result. I want to urge fans of Hearts of Oak not to give up on us. We'll beat them at home in Accra which will be a huge moral boost,” he added.
The defeat saw Hearts of Oak fall back to seventh on 19 points, while Kotoko climb to sixth with twenty-one points.
Hearts of Oak will next face Berekum Chelsea on Friday, December 20, 2024, as they look to dust off the shackles of defeat and dusting their former coach Samuel Boadu - who is currently handling the Bibires with goals and accrue the three maximum points at stake.
