Denmark suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of France in their second Group D fixture at the Stadium 974 on Saturday evening.

The defending champions on Tuesday thrashed Australia 4-1 to kick off the defence of their title in a superb fashion, scoring 2 goals to progress to the round of 16. Both goals was scored in the second half by Mbappé, the world's highest-earning footballer; he sidefoot the ball past Denmark goalkeeper Schmeichel after receiving a pass from Hernandez, who cut it back on a plate for the end slasher - to register the first goal in the 61st minute.

It took just seven minutes for the Danes to level it through Andres Christensen as the former Chelsea defender nodded it home with his head after Andersen flicked it on from the corner and it landed perfectly in Christensen's path.

The Red and Whites defense appeared very heavy and delicate at some point as they could not contain almost every onslaught from the French trio Hernandez, Tchouameni and Rabiot

France did a good job on the Danish defense. They stopped Denmark from settling in the game as the team lacked creativity and purposefulness upfront, therefore making Christensen and Braithwaite, who came on for Cornelius ineffective in the dying embers of the match.

The Les Bleus scored again in the 86th minute through Mbappe - who completed his brace after great play by Coman and Griezmann on the right, staying fractionally the right side of Kristensen before Mbappé bundled home the sumptuous pass to end Denmark's frightful performance on the night.
