Everton Football Club was found guilty by the Premier League for Breach of Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules [PSR] which was was formerly known as the Financial Fair Play [FFP].
Everton was deducted 10 points for sustaining over €300 million loss in the 2021/22 season with immediate effect. Everton were on 14 points before the decision was made. A statement was made by Everton stating that they disapprove the decision as they say it is unfair and unjust.
Everton released an appeal today saying " Everton Football Club today have lodged with the chair of the Premier League judicial panel ; its appeal of the decision by a Premier League commission to impose a 10 point deduction on the club".
The Premier League will appoint board to review the decision again before the end of the season.
Everton boss Sean Dyche also said "The way it is sounding from the noise out there is not just about us. There will be others looked at possibly over time. We will have to wait and see".
Sean Dyche comments are based on the recent reviews of Chelsea and Manchester City also breaching the PSR. Manchester City are battling 115 cases which would be sat on next year.
Everton are on 19th position with 4 points after the deduction as they face Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Chelsea, Burnley, Fulham, Spurs, Manchester City and Wolves.
Everton would feel they have to pick valuable points to stay in the Premier League since they have no idea of how their appeal will go. Everton at the moment will have to pick impetus from this.
