Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has announced his final 26-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup scheduled to be played across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
This list includes Memphis Depay, who is Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent, the Netherlands' all-time top scorer and assist provider, and has managed to recover in time from his hamstring injury for the tournament, while Arsenal's Jurriën Timber also makes the cut despite earlier doubts.
Koeman also handed Bournemouth star Justin Kluivert a call-up after months of injury struggles. Kluivert will come in handy in Oranje's attacking midfield, where Spurs' Xavi Simons will be missed after tearing his ACL in April.
However, Liverpool full-back Jeremie Agyekum Frimpong, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, is among the notable names missing from the squad list, with Stefan de Vrij also left out.
Despite the absence of Frimpong, another Dutch-born player with Ghanaian heritage, Brian Brobbey has been included in Koeman's list. The Sunderland forward is among the forwards he will be relying on at the 2026 World Cup.
Atalanta skipper Marten de Roon returns to the Oranje squad after last playing for the Netherlands in March 2024. He replaces Schouten and Veerman in the 26-man squad.
PSV's Guus Til is another returnee, with the 6-time international having played just one game for the Netherlands since June 2022.
Netherlands will open their 2026 World Cup campaign on June 14 against Japan before they take on Sweden and Tunisia on June 20 and 26 respectively.
