French-born Algerian superstar Karim Benzema has urged the Desert Warriors to 'go all out' in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guinea this (Thursday) evening.
The Al-Ittihad striker who is currently back in Algeria, a country of his parents for holidays, paid a visit to the senior national team on Wednesday in their training camp.
The Desert Warriors are on top of Group G after two games with six points. But they are set to face a tough opponent; Guinea - tonight, in Bakari at Nelson-Mandela Stadium.
“It’s the first time I came here, first time in Algiers too. So I was asked to come and see the players – I know some of them – so thank you already to the President of the federation [Wali Sadi] who invited me”, the Ballon d’or 2022 winner told Algerian FA, média.
“They look in good shape. I hope that tomorrow (today, editor’s note) they will have a good match, please people and win.”
“It will be the first time. I have been told many things about this legendary stadium. I hope there will be a lot of atmosphere but I have no doubt about it. It’s a very important match for them and for the fans, and everyone will be for Algeria tomorrow [today].“
Algeria will take on Uganda just four days later in two must-win clashes as they aim to climb up the group standings.
