Prosper Harrison Addo, who is the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association has stated that club licensing laws will help make football more professional in the African continent.
Addo made this submission following a three-day CAF Regional Club Licensing Workshop held at the plush Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
Fifteen continental football member associations, including Ghana, Egypt, Nigeria, Liberia, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Kenya, South Africa, Eswatini, Botswana, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe participated in the workshop.
At the closure of the workshop on Wednesday, Addo expressed confidence concerning the probability of football becoming more professional with the exertion of licensing regulations.
“First of all, we will say thank you to CAF for bringing such a workshop to Ghana on club licensing,” he told Asempa FM.
“Club licensing is a unique tool that will help make the game more professional. There are various pillars of it; infrastructure, finance, sporting, and the legal aspect.”
