Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has admitted that South Korea gave the Black Stars a tough game at the Education City Stadium on Monday evening.
Ayew in an interview after the game said he was delighted with the important win over the Asians but he admits that it wasn't an easy task for the Black Stars.
Goals from Mohammed Salisu and Kudus Mohammed ensured the Black Stars a 2-0 for the break but two-quick brace from Gue-Sung Cho restored the parity after the hour-mark.
It took a 68th minute strike from Kudus Mohammed, which was his second in the game to secure the West African nation a 3-2 win over the South Koreans.
"The most important thing is that we got the three points. We scored two goals in the first half. We didn't start the second half well but we grew into it and managed to score the third goal. We defended well. They gave us a tough time."
"We have a very young team, very energetic. We the senior players, we try to motivate the younger ones every day and let them know that it's the World Cup. I think the young ones that came on and the ones that started showed experience, composure and we the senior players are really pleased."
Ghana will battle it out with their World Cup rivals Uruguay in the final Group H game on Friday. A win will aid the Black Stars to qualify to the knockout stage of the tournament.
