Tunisia national football team head coach Sabri Lamouchi has named his final 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The expanded 48-team tournament has secured Tunisia one of Africa’s nine automatic qualification slots as they prepare for another global appearance.

The Carthage Eagles have been drawn into a challenging Group F alongside Sweden, Japan, and 2010 World Cup finalists the Netherlands. They will open their campaign against Sweden on June 15 before facing Japan and the Netherlands in what is expected to be a demanding group stage.

Lamouchi’s squad blends experience with emerging talent, with key figures such as Ellyes Skhiri, Hannibal Mejbri, Elyes Saad, Firas Chaouat, and Ali Abdi all included in the final selection.

Tunisia remain one of Africa’s most consistent World Cup participants, having qualified for six editions (1978, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022). However, they are still chasing a historic first-ever qualification for the knockout stage.

Their most memorable modern achievement came in 2022, when they recorded a famous 1–0 victory over reigning champions France.

As preparations continue, Tunisia head into the tournament determined to break new ground and finally progress beyond the group stage.
