Ghanaian left-winger Maxwell Boakye wrapped up the the second most important football trophy after Clube Ferroviário de Maputo defeated Clube Ferroviário da Beira 1-0 in a Mozambique League Cup final at National Stadium of Zimpeto on Sunday.
Heading into the game, the former Hearts of Oak and Karela United marksman has nailed ten goals and annexed five assists in 18 rounds of matches and pulled off a superb assist as his team surged to a resounding win in the Taça de Moçambique Cup.
Boakye was handed a start by coach Carlos Baúte but it was the Mozambican centre-back João Pedro Mussica, commonly known as Jeitoso who stole the show after notching the only goal of the match to clinch the trophy for his side.
Boakye and his side will feature in the CAF Confederations Cup next season following the Locomotives triumph in the Mozambican Cup.
