Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has nudged Ghanaians to be lenient with his team as the players will need time to adjust and be consistent.
The four-time African champions - under the tutelage of Otto Addo, on Monday evening defeated Central African Republic 4-3 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier at the Baba Yara stadium.
As expected, Ghana were the clear favourites, so it wasn't surprising when Jordan Ayew notched three goals, with Abdul Fatawu Issahaku also scoring on the night.
Speaking to the media after the match, Addo highlighted the importance for the younger players to be given time to acclimate and amalgamate.
“I hope that Ghanaians give us time. It's always difficult because after this, the guys will be on a break and then coached with different ideas, and then I will come with different ideas too,” Otto Addo stated.
“It’s always challenging as I have to analyze our opponents and find the best solutions. Our approach to the next game will also be shaped by how our opponents play.
“The players are very young, but they will grow and learn to adapt. They will recognize the right situations and make the right decisions with time," Addo added.
As it stands, Ghana have three wins in four 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games. They've amassed nine points from a possible 12, with six matches left to play.
