Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has joined Premier League heavyweights Manchester City from Bournemouth on a five-and-a-half-year deal.
The 26-year-old free-scoring frontman joins the Cityzens after passing his mandatory medical examinations on Thursday, bringing a long transfer saga to a close in this January transfer window.
He joined for a total fee of €75 million - making him the most expensive Ghanaian footballer ever, surpassing Kudus Mohammed’s €64m switch to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
The versatile attacker has been unveiled and has taken up the number 42 shirt which was previously won by club legend Yaya Toure. He’s also been cleared and is eligible to play with his debut for the Cityzens likely to come against Newcastle United on Tuesday, January 13, in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
Speaking after the official announcement, the ex- Bristol City forward expressed a huge excitement and added he is looking forward to adding and improving tremendously after the move.
He’s also been further added that, the Etihad is one venue he admires so much and can’t wait to play in front of the supporters

Before sealing his transfer move to the Etihad Stadium, he took in 21 appearances by netting 10 and setting up 3 across all competitions for the Cherries in this current 2025/26 campaign.
He currently boasts of 31 caps with the Ghana Senior Men's National Team on the international stage with 3 goals to his name.
