The man in charge of affairs at the Brøndby Stadium has affirmed that the 20-year-old talented midfielder of Ghanaian heritage is dragging his feet over fresh terms amid strong interest from the French top dogs this winter

Brøndby IF sporting director Benjamin Schmedes has revealed that Danish-born Ghana-target Noah Nartey doesn't want to extend his contract with them, with Ligue 1 giants Lyon current on his heels in this January transfer window.

The Danish top-tier outfit are eager to keep hold of their prized asset beyond this summer after tabling a fresh term over extension to the promising youngster and his representatives. However, with strong interest from his French suitors, the Drengene Fra Vestegnen are now sweating over retaining his services after declining their advances over a new deal.

ln an interview with Danish sports broadcasting channel Viaplay, Club's chief Benjamin Schmedes has said: '' It's no secret that we have gone to great lengths - maybe even further - to convince him ( Noah Nartey) of a contract extension. No one can force people to do anything, so we must respect that Noah does not want to extend his contract right now. Therefore, we must deal with the things that are currently on the table.''

The football administrator said his outfit could be compelled to cash in on him if the going over contract extension gets tough along the way.

''We are open to everything. We are considering all offers, but we are in a strong position with Noah having 18 months left on his contract. Of course we will try to optimize both the sporting and financial output.''

With an individual accolades coupled with an impressive performances with Brøndby IF so far this season, the French heavyweights must splash an amount of €8 million on his head if they are to land him in this January transfer market given the duration of his running contract which is set to expire in 2027.

Nartey has so far netted 7 times and assisted 3 in 25 games across all competitions for the Danish outfit in this current 2025/26 football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, he still remains eligible to switch international allegiance by representing Ghana on the international stage despite featuring for the Denmark national youth teams
