The Swedish second division side have parted company with the 33-year-old experienced defender after the expiration of his short-term deal at the end of last season
Superettan outfit Örebro SK have gone separate ways with veteran Ghanaian defender Joseph Baffoe in this January transfer window, the club have announced.
The ex-Helsingborgs IF defender, who joined the Örebro-based club on a free transfer during the summer of 2025, has now been released by the Swedish lower division side ahead of their new football season.
''The sports club would like to express its gratitude to Joseph Baffoe who, after completing his short-term contract, is now leaving ÖSK Fotboll. Best of luck in the future Joseph and many thanks for your wholehearted efforts in the black and white shirt during the autumn,'' a statement reads.
Baffoe stated to the club's official website: ''Many thanks to everyone at the club for an experience to remember, everything from the sporting to the private. I quickly felt at me both on and off the pitch and wish ÖSK the best of luck in the future. Black and white will always have a special place in my heart.''
Sporting director Enes Ahmetovic added: ''With Baffoe, we went in with the attitude of doing the best we can for six months and now a very special six months have passed. It really takes monumental courage and attitude to sign in a situation when everything is at its darkest, and that is exactly what Baffoe showed. I and the club are enormously grateful that he jumped on the bandwagon and that he, together with the team, contributed to a historic great escape . We wish Joseph the very best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for the memories from the autumn.''
He has a vast experience in football competitions having had spells with IFK Värnamo, Helsingborgs IF, Vålerenga, Halmstads BK, Eintracht Braunschweig and MSV Duisburg so far in his career.
The Ghanaian-born defender still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage having featured for the Swedish national youth teams.
