David Oduro: "The aim is to break into the first team as soon as possible"

Newly-signed FC Barcelona defender, David Oduro has expressed excitement after the move and has revealed his main ambition is to break into the senior side as quick as possible.

The 18-year-old is joining the Blaugranas on a three-year deal after he impressed very well in a trial opportunity offered to him by the European giants.

The former Chelsea trialist has trained with FC Barcelona's La Masia since March this year and exhibited an impressive display which caught the good eyes of the club's technical handlers who have ordered for his immediate capture.

In an interview with Sporty TV, Oduro who was unveiled last Tuesday, is pleased with the move and has pledged to all Barcelona supporters that he will not disappoint and has his sights on getting into the first team and help them win trophies.

"This is the first time for me to work extra hard to be able to move to the first team. The aim is to play for the first team, Champions League and then come back to play for Ghana." 

He will be the first player directly from Ghana to join the Blaugranas and will start from the academy.

David Oduro has been a delight to watch in the Ghana Premier League since joining Accra Lions in 2021 from lower-tier side Desideros FC.
