The 27-year-old winger of Ghanaian descent is set to miss the major part of the rest of the ongoing season in the Danish lower division contest having picked up an injury in pre-season friendly
Danish-born Ghanaian winger Christoffer Boateng is set to be on the sidelines for several months after suffering from a cruciate ligament injury in his side's 3-1 victory against Avarta in a friendly game last month.
The former FC Helsingör man, who is currently on the books of Danish 1st Division side BK Fremad Amager, has undergone a successful surgery and will now sit out for the majority part of the current campaign.
Right after his successful operation, the Sundby Idrætspark outfit have said in a statement: ''Unfortunately, Boateng had to withdraw from the match against Avarta when his left knee was badly twisted. The cruciate ligament is torn, which means that Boateng is out for most of 2023. But as mentioned from the start – that says a lot about Boateng, who despite the terrible experience is standing with a smile.
''ALL the best in the whole process "Boa" and huge high fives from your colleagues here in Turkey. We all know you will come back even stronger on the grass!''
Before being sidelined, Boateng made 15 appearances, scoring 4 and assisting 1 for Fremad Amager in the ongoing 1.Division 22/23 football season.
The Danish-born winger is still qualified to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Denmark national U21 youth team.
