Former England and Manchester United defender Gary Neville has offered advice to Mohammed Kudus, urging the West Ham United midfielder to refine his decision-making abilities during matches.
Kudus played a significant role in West Ham's 4-2 victory over Brentford, contributing with an assist to help his team secure a crucial win on Monday night.
While acknowledging Kudus' talent, Neville emphasized the importance of maturity in making final decisions on the field.
"Kudus has got something special, but he needs to be more mature in his final choices," Neville said on his podcast.
The former footballer highlighted instances where Kudus opted for speculative shots instead of choosing a more calculated final pass, emphasizing the need for consistency and precision in his play.
"Sometimes wingers can be unpredictable, but they need to be unpredictable not just to the opposition but also to their own teammates. In the first half, he took one or two wild shots instead of making a final pass."
He pointed out that Kudus' development as a player hinges on his ability to make informed choices in crucial moments of the game, ensuring that his actions contribute positively to his team's performance.
Despite being substituted in stoppage time, Kudus' overall contribution to West Ham's campaign has been significant, with six goals and two assists in the Premier League, and a total of 10 goals across all competitions.
