The fiercely contested encounter unfolded in front of a packed Avnet Arena, with 27,815 fans creating an intense atmosphere as the hosts struck first. Magdeburg broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, with Mateusz Żukowski finding the back of the net to give his side the advantage.
Dresden’s response was swift, led by the energy and intelligence of the 20-year-old Amoako. Just five minutes after falling behind, the midfielder showcased sharp reactions and calm finishing to drag his team level.
A corner kick caused chaos in the Magdeburg box, and when the loose ball dropped to Amoako, his initial powerful strike rattled the crossbar. Reacting quicker than everyone else, he pounced on the rebound and fired home emphatically to restore parity in the 34th minute.
The strike carried added significance, registering as Dynamo Dresden’s 100th goal in the history of the 2. Bundesliga, underlining the milestone nature of Amoako’s contribution.
The midfielder’s influence did not end there. Shortly before the interval, he played a key role again, delivering a teasing set-piece toward the back post. Thomas Keller rose to the occasion, converting from close range to complete the turnaround and send Dresden into the break with a 2-1 lead.
After halftime, Dynamo adopted a disciplined approach, soaking up pressure and protecting their advantage. Goalkeeper Tim Schreiber was instrumental, producing several crucial stops to deny Magdeburg a route back into the contest.
