The gangling defender has revealed his eagerness to play for the four-time African champions as he believes hard work and great performance at club level will be enough to catch the eyes of the technical handlers going forward

Ghanaian centre-back Maxwell Woledzi has said it has always been his dream to play for the Ghana Senior Men's National Team, the Black Stars on the international stage.

The 24-year-old Right to Dream academy finished article, who swapped Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad FK for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Nashville SC in December 2025, is keen to gain a national call-up with the west African powerhouse having harboured such a dream since his time at Danish outfit FC Nordsjælland.

The lanky guardsman has told Citi Sports of his long-time desire to don the Black Stars jersey for national assignment: ''I’ve been wanting to play for the Black Stars since I was in Nordsjaelland so it’s not something new but I just have to make sure that in my club I give my best and do what I have to do for the people in charge to see who I am.”

He added: ''Everyone is hoping to play for the national team and if you play for the national team, is a proud moment for you and your family.''

The Nima-born defender will be hoping to catch the eyes of the Black Stars technical handlers ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, Ghana have been drawn alongside England, Croatia and Panama in group L for the June global football event in USA, Canada and Mexico.
