The Swedish top division side have landed the services of the talented teenage sensation from the Ghanaian-based talent nurturing academy outfit after monitoring him for several months
Ivory Coast teenager Daniel Koffi has joined Swedish Championship side Halmstads BK from Right to Dream academy on a four-year contract, the club have confirmed.
The 18-year-old promising wonderkid caught the attention of the Allsvenskan outfit during their scouting mission in Ghana for the past months.
Given his talent as a budding star, those at the upper echelon of the Halmstads-based club have now tied him down to a long-term contract so as to ensure his steadily progress as an upcoming youngster in Europe.
''Last spring, Daniel Koffi came to Halmstad. The reason was that he had impressed sports director Jesper Westerberg and coach Johan Lindholm during their trip to Ghana a few months earlier. At the time, Daniel Koffi was only 17 years old and a contract had to wait. Until now,'' a statement over his capturing reads.
''Daniel Koffi moved from the Ivory Coast to Ghana and the Right to Dream academy as a youngster, where he lived in the same boarding school as Yannick Agnero. Through the academy's close collaboration with FC Nordsjælland, there have been several trips to Denmark to train with the big Danish club.''
sporting director Jesper Westerberg stated to his club's official website: ''The way was actually open for FC Nordsjælland, but we managed to tie him to us on a four-year contract. He had his first A-training today and he is competing for a starting place, but there will certainly be some appearances in the U19 and U21 during the season.
''Matches are important and the more often young talents play matches, the faster the development goes. In the U21 series there are quite a few matches so that is why we have extended a hand to Laholms FK so that our talents can play senior football to develop.''
The lvorian wonderkid is expected to spent time with the youth ranks in order to continue with his development as an upcoming youth star, with the Côte d'Ivoire senior national team technical handlers monitoring his progress afar ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup.
