Ghanaian midfielder Sabit Abdulai has completed his move to Brazilian second-tier league outfit Botafogo FC in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has officially joined the Stadium Santa Cruz outfit on a free transfer after leaving Spanish La Liga club Getafe CF following the expiration of his contract.
The Brazilian club offered him a contract after impressing the club's technical handlers during a two-week trial period.
The club's official statement reads: “Botafogo has another signing in this transfer window. It is midfielder Sabit Abdulai, 25 years old, who has played for the Ghana national team and Getafe.”
“The player arrived in Ribeirão Preto on August 6th and, since then, has been training with the Botafogo squad.”
“He has already had his documentation regularized and is now at the disposal of coach Paulo Gomes.”
Abdulai began his football career at Ghanaian lower-tier side Spartans FC before sealing a move to Extremadura CF in Spain.
Following his exploits at Extremadura CF, he was acquired by Spanish La Liga club Getafe CF in a deal worth €500,000 in 2021.
He was loaned out to CD Lugo, Ponferradina and Real Murcia during his four-year stay at the club.
Abdulai has already featured for Ghana at the U20 and U23 levels.
