The former Norwich City midfield enforcer has been trusted with the stopgap managerial role at the Lerkendal Stadion until this upcoming summer 

Ghanaian-Norwegian retired defensive midfielder Alexander Tettey has been appointed as the interim coach of Norwegian Eliteserien club Rosenborg BK following the dismissal of Swedish manager Alfred Johansson.

The 40-year-old, who was acting as the assistant manager of the sacked Swede, is now set to steer the affairs of the club in the dugout on a short-term basis until a permanent gaffer is appointed in the summer.

Tetteh is a well-known figure at the Trondheim-based club after rising through their academy ranks to the senior side before parting ways with them in 2012.

Club's board chairman Cecilie Gotaas Johnsen is quoted to have said by Norwegian television channel TV2 over the appointment of the former Stade Rennais FC man on an interim basis: ''We have a list. It is ready, and now we need to activate it and see if anyone is interested in taking over and building on what Alfred has created.''

''It's quite complex. We have a lot of names in play that we'd like to talk to. It depends on the situation they are in. It also depends a bit on the other party. We hope for a solution before the summer,'' she added.

Having been born in Accra, Tetteh moved to Norway at age 13 to begin life over his footballing career in the Ciy of Trondheim in 1999.

On the international scene, he opted to play for the Norway national football team at the senior level and has won 34 caps for the national team, with 3 goals to his name.
