Emile Acquah scored the opener before their hosts notched a second-half leveller as Barrow AFC moved to the sixth spot of League Two to 68 points following a 1-1 draw stalemate against Crawley Town.
The English-born Ghanaian attacker broke the deadlock ten-minutes before half-time as Elliott Newby ran down the left wing and produced a sumptuous cross into the box that found the head of Emile Acquah who rose higher than the Crawley defender to head the ball into the bottom right corner.
Danilo Harley Orsi equalised as they were awarded a penalty after the referee consulted with the linesman after an alleged handball by Rory Feely as the second half progressed at the Broadfield Stadium.
The results saw the Bluebirds produce an excellent performance as they claimed a point away to Crawley Town, who remained under pressure in seventh.
Acquah's compatriot, Corey Addai was in post for Crawley, while Sarpong-Wiredu, was handed a starting berth by Barrow but was taken off in the 72nd minute.
Acquah has now made 41 appearances, nipping seven goals, and providing two assists in the English League Two.
