Ghanaian winger Francis Amuzu provided an assist in RSC Anderlecht home defeat to Zulte Waregem in the Belgian Jupilier League on Wednesday evening.

RSC Anderlecht woes in the 2022/23 season's campaign was deepened by Zulte Waregem after a painful 3-2 home defeat was inflicted on the Purples at the Lotto Park.

Zulte Waregem opened the score through Zinho Gano on the 11th minute before a first half brace from Benito Raman handed Anderlecht a 2-1 lead for the recess.

Amuzu assisted his teammate Benito Raman to snatch double against Zulte Waregem with a fine pass on the 36th minute after the Belgian striker had levelled the score a minute earlier.

Two second half from Alioune Ndour and Alieu Fadera on the 62nd and 75th minute respectively secured Zulte Waregem an important to keep their hopes of escaping relegation alive.

The 23-year-old lasted for the entire duration of the game with his compatriot Majeed Ashimeru.

He has managed to register his name thrice on the score sheet and provided six assists in his 32 appearances for RSC Anderlecht across all competitions this season so far

Amuzu is now eligible to play for Ghana after completing his nationality switch from Belgium.

Amuzu was born in Accra but moved to Belgium at a very young age before joining the youth team of Anderlecht.

Despite playing for Belgium’s U19 and U21 sides, the 23-year-old had been on the radar of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a while.

The winger received his debut senior international call-up for Belgium in September 2021 for the UEFA Nations League games against Wales and Netherlands but failed to play a single minute.

Amuzu is expecting to earn his debut call-up to the senior national team of Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.
