Ghana international Kudus Mohammed is highly optimistic about winning the African Footballer of the Year Award in the coming years.

The Ajax attacking midfielder who has had incredible season at the Dutch Eredivisie giants is positive he will clinch the prestigious accolade before ending his footballer career.

The 22-year-old stated in an episode of Ask The Pro on Ajax TV that he will one day be chosen as the best player of the African continent.
 
Asked if he sees himself being chosen as winner of the award in his career, the former FC Nordsjaelland player stated, “I believe everything is possible in this world so definitely yeah I will be chosen one day.”
 
Kudus, who has been tipped to make the shortlisted for the CAF African Footballer of the Year Award following his explosive performance at Ajax this season, is nursing a muscle injury picked up in Ajax’s’ 2-1 win over rivals Feyenoord in the semifinals of the Dutch Cup.
 
The former Right to Dream graduate has managed to notch up 18 goals and provided five assists in 36 matches for Ajax across all competitions this season.
 
He netted two goals and had an assist in three games at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
 
Since Abedi Pele won the CAF award three times in a row in 1993, no Ghanaian player has been able to clinch the continental award with the closest being his son, Andre Ayew, in 2015.
